New PA Driver's License Uses State of the Art Security Feature

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation recently deployed a new security hologram to make it easier to spot fake drivers' licenses and identification cards. Pennsylvania is the first state in the nation to used this enhanced security feature.

The new hologram suppresses the "rainbow" colors normally associated with holographic images. The resulting hologram appears to switch between white and black as the image is moved. It is also higher resolution and thus clearly visible even in low-light environments.

For more information and to see an example of the new hologram, visit PennDOT's Driver and Vehicle Services website at http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/idSecurityCenter/isisSecurityFeature.shtml
