Community Groups

The Bureau of Alcohol Education provides a variety of support for communities in their efforts to prevent underage and dangerous drinking, alcohol abuse, and drinking and driving.  In addition to free informational materials, the PLCB distributes its Grant to Reduce Underage and Dangerous Drinking to community prevention organizations, municipal law enforcement agencies, K-12 school districts, and higher education institutions to qualifying applicants.  Beginning in 2013, the grants will follow a two-year cycle. For more information, contact Alcohol Education at 1-800-453-7522 or by email at,

The Bureau of Alcohol Education also offers a number of training resources for a variety of audiences. Law enforcement agencies can benefit from classes such as false ID recognition and controlling underage drinking parties, while Strategic Planning Workshops, based on Environmental Management Theory, help prevention groups develop innovative strategies to fit their target populations.
