Chief Information Officer
Mary Benner serves as chief information officer for the PLCB. Mary is responsible for leading and managing a complex information technology portfolio of people, infrastructure, systems, processes and projects that support the strategic and tactical needs of the Board. Her responsibilities include IT policy, IT portfolio management, security with critical infrastructure protection, IT architecture, information quality and e-Government.
As CIO, Mary has built a responsive IT organization that consistently delivers results by aligning technology initiatives with business goals and substantial improvement to service delivery, standardization and business/systems performance. Mary brings a unique blend of experience in IT solutions development and operational improvements to her management of the IT operations, as well as all other systems for an organization with more than 5,000 people, three warehouses and more than 600 retail locations.
Prior to her current position, Mary served as deputy CIO for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, CIO for the state Department of Labor and Industry and CIO for the state Department of Health. During her tenure in the various agencies, she implemented several large complex legacy system replacements with state-of-the-art technology.
A native of Pennsylvania, Benner has a bachelor’s degree from York College and a master’s degree in information systems from Penn State University. She and her husband, Ty, live in Millerstown.
