Mary Benner, Chief Information Officer
Mary Benner serves as Chief Information Officer for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. In the capacity of CIO, Mary is responsible for leading and managing a complex information technology portfolio of people, infrastructure, systems, processes and projects that support the strategic and tactical needs of the Board. Her responsibilities include IT policy, IT portfolio management, security with critical infrastructure protection, IT architecture, information quality and e-Government.
As CIO, Mary has built a responsive IT organization that consistently delivers results by aligning technology initiatives with business goals and substantial improvement to service delivery, standardization and business/systems performance. Mary brings a unique blend of experience in IT solutions development and operational improvements to her management of the IT operations, including Oracle E-Business and ReTek suites, as well as all other systems for an organization with 5000+ people, three warehouses and more than 600 retail locations.
Prior to her current position, Benner served as Deputy CIO for the Commonwealth, CIO for the Pa Department of Labor and Industry and CIO for the Pa Department of Health. During her tenure in the various agencies, she implemented several large complex legacy system replacements with state of the art technology.
Benner is a native of Pa, has a bachelor’s degree from York College and a master’s in Information Systems from Penn State. She and her husband Ty live in Millerstown, Pa.
